Arsenal could be without Jack Wilshere for up to four months if the midfielder requires surgery on his injured ankle.
Wilshere suffered the injury during the 2-1 defeat by Manchester United on Saturday, after a challenge by Paddy McNair.
Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday that the midfielder will see a specialist for the problem.
Wenger is currently without seven first-team players because of injury, including Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny (see full list in gallery below).
"I don't want to say how bad it is because I'm not a specialist medically," manager Arsene Wenger said.
"The first news is that he will be out for the next few games. To know how long he will need to see a specialist."
